Found this gem at the corner of 15th and K NW as I walked from Metro to work today. I’m sure last night was awesome, but I’m confident you, owner of these black flats, would take back those last couple of drinks if you could.
Seen: Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Metro station (Red Line) Story: This was the crowd after our train inbound was offloaded as part of the continuing tie-ups after a piece of equipment fell off and caught on fire on a Red between Gallery Place-Chinatown and Metro Center. Total time it took me to get to work today: [...]
Seen: Connecticut Avenue NW at 17th Street Story: I have to admit, I had a small-town-girl, “Holy cow!” moment when I saw this. It’s a novel concept to me that a newspaper box takes plastic now. I mean, right here, you can buy your edition of The Wall Street Journal and pay for it with [...]
Seen: Along the tracks directly behind the Brookland-Catholic University of America Metro stop on the Red Line (inbound side) Story: The Red Line route through Northeast D.C. has a lot of really interesting graffiti to see as you head in and out of town. I noticed this painting go up shortly after Michael Jackson’s death [...]
A Fourth of July four-pack of recent photos. All of these were taken with my new BlackBerry Storm. I’m still adjusting the settings, so expect more in days to come. Especially if we hit some festive stuff this weekend. Seen: The bar of Legal Sea Foods, Chinatown Story: This delicious Cosmopolitan made with Ketel One [...]
Seen: Green Line to Greenbelt, about 8 p.m. June 1. Story: In this edition of Metro graffiti, it appears the Trinidad Neighborhood Association took it upon itself to make sure you knew what stop to exit in case you’d like to go to “Trinidad Bitch.” It should also be noted that the Trinidad Neighborhood Association [...]
Seen: McPherson Square Metro station, I Street at Vermont Avenue and 14th Street NW Story: Ain’t no party like a Metro party ’cause a Metro party don’t stop. But seriously, kids. If you’re going to drink n’ ride, at least throw the cans away when you’re done. There are trash cans on all Metro platforms. [...]
Seen: Farragut North Metro station, Connecticut Avenue at K and L streets Story: I’ve never been to the green, gooey stop on the Red Line. That must be where people who are too lazy to put their gum in the trash can literally two feet from the pillar end up at the end of the [...]
Seen: Sizzling Express, 15th and K NW Story: I visit this place probably twice a day most days for their 55-cent big cup of ice for the diet Mountain Dew I buy. I’ve never stopped to actually check out their candy display until this afternoon. I’m going to venture to say I’d prefer this chocolate [...]
