So, this is what being snowed in is all about, I guess. All day, I’ve watched people try to drive around in this, and I’m mystified. Your Chevy Cavalier was not designed to handle nearly two feet of snow, no matter how pimp your rims are.
Watching the news off and on all day (with a seven-hour break for Season 2 of “Hell’s Kitchen” on FOX Reality Channel) it looks like most of the area’s got at least a foot, up to 20 inches in some local spots. I haven’t been out to measure in a bit, but there was about six inches on the balcony.
Inky … loves snow. She burrowed in it, rolled around, scraped it, jumped. It was pretty cute to watch.
On the agenda tomorrow? Trying to dig the car out, because nobody wants that job at 7 a.m. Monday, that’s for sure. So, wish us luck with that because, well, we don’t have a shovel. Or an ice scraper, even. Looks like the ol’ broom is going to have to cut it. This probably isn’t going to end well.

I spent most of today catching up on sleep and then catching up on my DVR backlog (after having a cold that caused said DVR backlog).
We got 20 inches of snow here in Stephens City (south of Winchester). Dad made it to the store just fine in a front wheel drive Mazda, even though he could have taken the truck. I think he just wanted to say he could.
One note on the Fox Reality Channel, it is finito come March 30, 2010. It is being turned into “National Geographic Wild”…essentially National Geographic Channel 2.
For shame – a WV girl doesn’t have a shovel OR an ice scraper?
I know. Total weak sauce. Total.
Dude, y’all got REAMED!
We got…probably 4-6 inches…roads aren’t bad at all, actually.
You silly Malaysians trying to drive in all that snow!
I know. This is so not Malaysian weather.
Gah. So not looking forward to car digging later.
I was really lucky. A friend came in from out of town, arrived at another friend’s house and, seeing the roads about to take a turn for the worse, piled in their car to get snowed in at my place. So essentially I’ve been forced to spend time shut in with some of my favorite people that I don’t get to see every day.
